Frequently Asked Questions
- Q. My team is located all over the place. Can you help us?
- A. Yes, using The Original Corporate Adventure, we can customize the missions so that even teams in different cities can interact and benefit from team building.
- Q. How can I get started?
- A. The first step is to contact us through phone or by filling out the form under Contact Us. For The Original Corporate Adventure, we can have you up and playing by the next day. For full or half day events, we will work with you to come up with a custom proposal.
- Q. How can I convince my boss of the benefits of team building?
- A. Team building is utilized by almost every major company in America.
The benefits include improved morale, increased communication, lower turnover, and thus increased production. In today’s environment, employees don’t think twice about leaving jobs they don’t like. Businesses that provide team building activities have lower turnover and save money in the long run.
- Q. Other team building companies cost thousands. Can Smart Team Building really be so affordable?
- A. Our team building programs are created by business owners and experts who know the importance of limiting waste. By utilizing the efficiency of the Internet, we are able to keep our overhead low and pass the savings on to you. You won’t pay for props or travel expenses like you might with other companies.
- Q. What do I need to participate in a Corporate Adventure?
- A. You need at least 8 employees and one manager to help us facilitate the game. Also, your employees will need internet access either at work or at home.
- Q. Will my team be playing this adventure all day long and not getting any work done?
- A. No. The first set of instructions they receive clearly states that part of their lives as undercover agents is to never let the missions interfere with normal work or customers. They are to weave their tasks into their normal activities. Most of the missions only take minutes a day to complete, so this shouldn’t be a problem. However, in the instance that a team is spending too much time on the adventure and not enough working, we can send them additional instructions to rectify the situation.
- Q. What is your overall approach to team building?
- A. We like to take a simple approach. Rather than lecture everyone about the principles of communication and team work, we know that if we can help employees to interact, have fun, and play together, they will be much more comfortable talking to each other in the future -- i.e., if you can help two employees become better friends, then you’ve made them better team members.
- Q. What takes place during The Original Corporate Adventure?
- A. Typically, an adventure is divided into 4 rounds. The first round is meant to create excitement and get teams organized. The second round encourages everyone’s competitive natures through several practical jokes. The third round takes the competitive juices we built up in round 2 and turns them towards something bigger than the individuals as teams compete to raise money for charities. The fourth round takes the goodwill that was built up in round 3 and turns it back towards the company as teams produce Employee Appreciation Days for everyone. Also, throughout the entire adventure there are twists and turns, a humorous online photo gallery of your company, and newsletters to keep everyone posted.
