How It Works
- The game, "The Ingenious Mr. Thronbacker," is a mystery themed adventure that runs in the background of a normal workweek, but doesn't interfere with normal work.
- All you do is email us a list of your participants, grouped into teams.
- We send out hilarious emails to each team from their "Headquarters" detailing how someone in your school has been leading a double life.
- Teams compete over the course of a week to solve the mystery and win the game. Each day they get new emails, new missions, and new clues. They must strategize, communicate, and come together as a team to win.
- "Missions" generally only take around 5 minutes a day to complete, but suddenly the entire week is exciting and fun. The goal is to make their week more enjoyable, so the missions are designed to be easy and relieve stress, not add to it!
- The plot involves twists, turns, clues, and tons of humor. There are jokes, hidden clues, riddles, Name That Tune, talent competitions, and contests of all kinds.
- There are two versions: one that uses a 1-hour staff meeting as the finale and one that doesn't require a staff meeting at all. We suggest that if you can find time for a meeting, do that version because the meeting is an absolute blast. But if you can't, do the email-only version because it's amazing too.
- Cost: FREE! Because you're a school, you get to participate in this program for free! We're able to do this because of how the team building process works and our relationships with nonprofits. All week long the staff will be working within their teams, so it's important to have an activity at the end that brings them all back together and unifies them as one. To do this, we use a 10-minute humorous phone drive scavenger hunt where teams support a project that is bigger than themselves. The game is just 10 minutes, but that's enough for nonprofits to want to partner with you and pay for your entire week's program! The scavenger hunt itself is fun and competitive and based off the television show The Apprentice, but by the end everyone realizes they've done some good and it will serve to build school pride and unity. If you don't want to partner with a nonprofit, there is also an option to do this game to benefit a project for your own school. Can We Participate Without This Game? Yes. We include it because we think it helps the team building AND it allows you to do it for free. But if you decide it's not for you and would rather just pay, it's between $5 to $10 per person depending on the size of your group. Satisfaction Guaranteed Interesting Note: We do this program for businesses and corporations too (that's where it originated) and they pay $25 per participant for it. And guess what? Even though they pay for it, we still include this game to help a charity. Why? Because it's GOOD team building! It's fun, builds goodwill, and brings everyone back together as one. It's not something that is just thrown in there for no reason or just so that you can do it for free. This is a win-win situation and a fantastic program.
- Don't take our word for it, this is the best reviewed team building program in the nation. Read the testimonials and see for yourself!
